The Confident Mother

For ambitious women who want to confidently balance career and family

7th July 2016

10 blog posts you shouldn’t miss

“What are you doing Mrs Bevan, you’re not allowed over there!” I turned round to see who was yelling at me. One of my daughter’s friends at the school sports day. I’d wandered off piste into the undergrowth to take a photograph of a beautiful fritillary butterfly.

School sports day means we’re halfway through the year so I thought I’d share my most popular blog posts this year.

Jamie Oliver and breastfeeding

The popularity and traffic of this post took me completely by surprise. I offered to host a guest post for another NCT breastfeeding counsellor. This one post had more views in one day than my website had experienced in a whole year.

Everybody wants to know how to get more done, don’t they.

Online tools to help the business mum get more done

Ways to self harm

A different take on my 2nd element, Wellness. A bit of a confession that was difficult to make to myself, even.

The 5 most important things to focus on when you go back to work

You may be surprised that the top 5 things don’t include your CV or LinkedIn.

Do you deserve to be loved to the ends of the earth?

Many of my blog posts focus on the practical aspects of confidence however the starting point in my work with women is to explore who you are and what you do. If we just focus on the practicals, we’re ignoring your inner core, and often it’s our inner core that needs help. Help that I provide in a gentle and nurturing way.

How to develop resilience

Explore what resilience is and how you can nurture your own resilience.

Top recruitment agencies for career break mums

Does what it says; agencies that specialist in career returners, flexible working and part-time jobs.

Career change: teacher to entrepreneur

Every week I post a career change or business startup story from another mum and always happy to receive more stories.

Why career break mums need to be on LinkedIn –

Includes some top tips on how to make the most of LinkedIn.

I really enjoyed my morning at the school sports day. It’s my daughter’s last year in primary school. I get that warm fuzzy feeling when I see how she has developed; her sense of fairness; her sportsmanship; her desire to always do her best. A bit like my business really.

If you like my posts, click the subscribe button and you’ll get sent an email every time I post a new one. I’m doing 30 day challenge currently and we’re on Day 7. Normally I post 4 times a week. In July, I’m posting every day!

Great idea Mike. I created an ebook from a series of blog posts that I wrote last year – Back to Work Confidence Essentials Guide. Was very popular with mums going back to work after a career break or redundancy. I love how you can re-use content in this way.

Thanks Sherry! I’m planning on having a better look at your blog through the quiet summer months, so this post will really help 🙂
