Today’s post is a simple one. The book launch story in pictures for The Confident Mother.
Twelve months ago …
One year ago this month, I had the incredible realisation that I was spending too much time in my Zone of Excellence and nowhere near enough time in my Zone of Genius. I’m brilliant, fantastic at working with firms and their service delivery teams. I have the analytical skills, the people skills, the attention to detail to provide an excellent service.
However I wasn’t loving what I did. And to be honest I didn’t know what I did love. Apart from the obvious like nurturing and inspiring other mums to do amazing things. But everybody loves that, don’t they? Doh. And then I realised, with the help of my amazing coach, that NO. I have a unique gift. This coaching work that I was doing ‘on the side’, THIS is where I need to spend all my time. THIS is my calling, my purpose, my thing.
On Wednesday 17 September, I had THE most amazing coaching session ever. Ever, ever, ever. This is what I sent to my coach afterwards:
“I think I’m still a little fearful, a little scared, but I know if I let go a little bit, I’m going to feel SO SO very excited.“
Every time I think back to that day, I get goosebumps. Tears. If you follow me on Facebook or Twitter, you know that I absolutely love the work that I do now. I love to use my inner strength and confidence to nurture inspire other women to take those life-changing decisions, like I the one I made day 12 months ago. It was on that day that The Confident Mother really was born.
I had started to plan an online conference for law firm business services managers … hell no, where’s the fun in that? It was that day that I realised I wanted to do something for mothers; I want to help you celebrate and love life as a woman and as a mother; I wanted to give you an event to create that feeling of confidence in you.
In a few weeks I had persuaded many successful women to speak at my online conference. At a networking meeting in December, Karen Williams said me “You’re going to create a book from it, aren’t you?” “No way, are you crazy?” However she’d planted the seed. My friend Alison Jones is a publishing expert and when she announced The Expert Author programme, I just had to sign up!
Here’s the story in pictures …
