The Confident Mother

Helping ambitious women in technology manage their career with confidence and purpose

13th November 2015

Do you want something different?

I’d forgotten how powerful it is to spend time ‘away‘ focusing ON something – in my case it was my business – and I’m still revelling in the clarity and inspiration I got and want to pass it on!

A few days ago, I shared my vision of how I would like the world to be:

“full of powerful, confident women, who know and are sure of where they are going
and how to get there. Who don’t let others get in their way”.

Not everybody lands or falls into the career or business that’s right for them. As women, as mothers, one of the gifts to celebrate is the amazing opportunity to take stock of who and what we are. Maybe you trained as a lawyer or a teacher or a physiotherapist, and perhaps you are very good in that role. Brilliant even. Your clients love you, it’s good money, it’s taken you years to train, and your parents and partner are very proud of you.

BUT

And that’s the thing. There’s a but.

But you aren’t feeling the love. It doesn’t excite you. It doesn’t make you feel inspired. You’re not passionate about it. You don’t know how you can possibly make that fit around children. You’re wondering if there’s something else.

If you’re asking yourself, could I do something different, could I be someone different, the answer is probably yes. And if you’re wondering, can I really go back to work and be as smart and confident as I was before? The answer is definitely yes.

Here are some of my favourite success stories:

  • Emma had trained as a lawyer and before children she’d been promoted to partner. However going back to law did not give her the flexibility she wanted to be around for her children. With my help, Emma retrained and launched a business as a yoga teacher. She gave herself permission to say goodbye to the lawyer and focus on her passion. She’s just written her first book and a couple of weeks ago, taught live on stage at the Om Yoga Show! How exciting is that!
  • After years of being a stay at home mum, lacking in confidence, not really sure what she was good at, and no clear idea about what she wanted to do, Ashley loved getting back in touch with the ‘professional’ in her. She discovered what it is to feel powerful and to make life-changing decisions. She found a new career as an event organiser which absolutely plays to her strengths.
  • Inspired by The Confident Mother conference, Michelle found the confidence to embark on a “scary and exciting career change” and set herself up as a freelance photographer, rather than taking the easy option of going back to what she did before.
  • And once Lorna got clarity and certainty about her vision, she was simply unstoppable. She acquired new qualifications and set up her business. She now reaches out to potential clients and joint venture partners with new-found confidence; all without feeling overwhelmed.

Wondering if you could do something different or be someone different? Could I go back to work, or could I start my own business? The answer is YES. All you need is the clarity, the confidence, the right support, an effective action plan and accountability.

Maybe you’re one of the Mums I often talk to who ‘meant to do something when the kids went back in September’ or is ‘waiting until next year’ BUT at the same time you’re actually frustrated you’re making excuses and putting off doing something…

I am REALLY (really) excited about the new format for The Confident Mother Experience. It provides you with the intensive level of support and help that you need to get clarity on your goals, make those big decisions with ease and take the purposeful action required. However it also offers you ongoing support and accountability that will keep you on track after the initial excitement and flurry of activity that you get after a workshop.

Now just like you I’d been tempted to put this off ’til the New Year’ but I’m ready to help you now! So here’s my plan – I’m going to offer the ‘first places’ to Mums who are confident (or want to be!) enough to say yes now and not wait. In return I’m offering 5 places at 50% off as I don’t want to wait to do this either! The ‘catch’ is you need to get started by 30 November.

The Confident Mother Experience

If this sounds like the support and help you need to do something different, like go back to work, set up a business or change career, or , get in touch today. I’m expecting these 5 places at half price (£900 instead of £1800) to sell out fast. Remember you need to be able to start by 30 November for the 50% discount.
