Have you ever stood and watched in awe when an expert is busy doing his or her thing? When I was little, I remember there was a glassblower in the local art gallery in St Ives who made beautiful glass animals. I love watching programmes like Masterchef and Great British Bake Off when you get the opportunity to admire the creativity and concentration of chefs and bakers. Or the conductor concentrating as she leads the orchestra through their piece.
Very often these experts and professionals have found THEIR ONE thing.
What is your ONE thing?
What about you? What is the ONE thing that you are an expert in? What is the ONE thing that you are passionate about? What is the ONE thing that you could do for the rest of your life?
Have you read the book, The One Thing by Gary Keller and Jay Papasan? Their philosophy is that your results and your achievements are directly influenced by the way you work and the choices you make. The book shows you how you can accomplish more by doing less, when you focus on your ONE thing.
I love this concept. I encourage my clients to focus on their ONE thing. Especially if they are in a career that they’re not enjoying or wanting to go back to work after children but not sure they want to go back to what they had before. Or they’re thinking about setting up their own business to give them more flexibility to fit around childcare.
I encourage these women to identify what is unique and special about them; to follow their passion. Even if you offer the same services or you are following the same career path as 100s of other mums, YOU will bring something that only you can bring – because you have a unique combination of talents, strengths and experiences.
When you have found your ONE thing, life changes. Magic happens!
Magic certainly happened for me. My life has completely changed over the past twelve months. I can’t tell you how much I love my life and my work. Now that I am completely focussed on my ONE thing which is all about The Confident Mother, helping ambitious women to celebrate and love life as a woman and as a mother.
What about you – do you want to love your life? Would you like to find YOUR one thing so that you can be The Confident Mother? Book a call today and we can explore your options.
