If you keep on doing what you’ve always been doing, you’ll keep on getting the same results. If you want to be something different; if you want to have something different; if you want go somewhere something different; then guess what, you have to DO something different.
Nobody ever got anywhere by standing still.
It doesn’t matter if you don’t know exactly how you are going to get there … as long as you get started.
It doesn’t matter if you think you might be going in the wrong direction … as long as you are moving.
It doesn’t matter if you don’t know what the next step is … as long as you take the first step.
And yes, this might mean that sometimes the journey will take twists and turns. You’ll come up against dead ends and diversions. Often it’s only once you get started that you work out exactly where you are headed.
This is all ok. It’s part of the journey. We learn from every false start, every hesitation, every mistake, every bump in the road. It adds to the richness of experience. When I think about The Confident Mother Experience and what I have developed, I have come full circle from where I was in 2012. However at the time, I wasn’t ready to accept or to believe that working outside the corporate world was what I was meant to do. However I am an action-taker and I was not going to stand still.
Imperfect action is SO much more powerful than perfect inaction.
If you’re asking yourself, could I do something different, could I be someone different, the answer is probably yes. And if you’re wondering, can I really go back to work and be as smart and confident as I was before? The answer is definitely yes.
BUT ….
You have to get started.
Even if it is not the big step, take at least one small step today. Taking that one small step will give you energy and focus so that you know what small step to take after that.
If you know that you want something different this year, and maybe you’re one of the mums I often talk to who ‘meant to do something in September’ or now you’re ‘waiting until the New Year’ BUT at the same time you’re frustrated and cross with yourself, because you know deep down that you’re making excuses and putting off doing something…
If you know want something different but you’re smart enough to recognise that you need help, let’s talk. Click here to find a date and time that works for you.
There’s absolutely no commitment but as an action-taker myself, I will encourage you to take action, whether that’s to work with me or to take a different first step. And in fact I’m going to promise that you will come away with at least one clear action to take as a result.
When will you take the first step?
